Are You New to TAP?

Information

The following general information helps explain some features of Taxpayer Access Point (TAP). Individuals can file tax returns for the current tax year and pay income taxes (TC-40) without creating a special login called a “profile”. Individuals may create a profile to manage their income tax account, including filing, viewing, or amending tax returns for the current and prior two tax years. Businesses can also pay certain business-related taxes without a profile. However, to file taxes for your business, you must first create a profile. With a Business profile, you can also pay taxes, view balances, amend returns, and perform other functions. Please read through the following for more information.

If you are filing or paying business taxes, remember you must first register your business with the Tax Commission. To register your business, got to tap.utah.gov.
