Utah’s current fuel taxes include the following:
Motor Fuels
- Gasoline
- Gasohol
Aviation Fuels
All fuel used for aircraft operation.
Special Fuels
Any fuel used for motor vehicle operation on Utah public highways or waterways that is not taxed as motor or aviation fuel. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Diesel
- Bio-diesel
- Kerosene
- Blended fuels
- Compressed natural gas (CNG)
- Liquified natural gas (LNG)
- Hydrogen
- Any other fuel used to operate or propel a motor vehicle on public roads that is not taxed as motor or aviation fuel and is not listed above.
