Brine Shrimp Royalty

Return to List of Other Taxes

Brine shrimp egg harvesters must pay a royalty fee imposed on the total pounds of unprocessed brine shrimp eggs harvested.

The harvest is overseen by the Utah Department of Natural Resources (DNR). DNR calculates the royalty due, but the Tax Commission bills and collects.

Tax Rates

The Brine Shrimp Royalty tax rate is 3.25 cents multiplied by the total number of pounds of unprocessed brine shrimp eggs someone harvests in Utah for the taxable year.
