Tax Commissioners

Utah's four tax commissioners are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate to serve four-year terms. The commission is bi-partisan as the Utah Constitution requires equal appointments from different political parties.

Pam Hendrickson

Former Sevier County Assessor; real estate appraiser, and computer systems administrator. Appointed 1997.

Commissioner

R. Bruce Johnson

Attorney, specializing in federal, state and local tax litigation and planning. Utah State Bar's 1994-95 "Tax Practitioner of the Year". Appointed 1998.

Marc B. Johnson

Former tax administrator for Salt Lake County Board of Commissioners, property tax manager for American Stores Company and real estate consultant for Wallace Associates.

D'Arcy Dixon Pignanelli

Appointed by Governor Huntsman and confirmed by the Utah State Senate in 2006. 20 years budget, policy and administrative experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Former public member of the Utah State Bar appointed by the Utah Supreme Court.

Executive Director

The executive director is appointed by the four tax commissioners and the appointment is approved by the Governor. Under a management agreement, the executive director runs the day-to-day operations of the Tax Commission.

Rodney G. Marrelli

CPA, was vice president of finance and administration for the Standard Corp., former controller for the Intermountain Power Agency. Appointed January 1994.
